Ria Khan, a rebellious student and aspiring martial artist, dreams of becoming a world-famous stuntwoman. When her older sister Lena renounces her dreams by dropping out of the art academy and getting engaged, Ria’s world is turned upside down. She believes she must rescue her sister from the shackles of marriage the only way she knows how. With the help of her friends, she then attempts to carry out an ambitious anti-marriage plan in the name of freedom and sisterhood.

Nida Manzoor 

Nida Manzoor is a British filmmaker who wrote, directed, and created all the original music for her series We Are Lady Parts, premiering on Peacock/Channel 4 in 2021. The series is an anarchic and irreverent musical comedy following an all-female Muslim punk band, told through the eyes of a nerdy PhD student who is reluctantly recruited as lead guitarist. The series has been renewed for a second season. We Are Lady Parts was nominated for the Gotham Independent Film Award and the Independent Spirit Award and Manzoor won the Peabody Award 2022 and BAFTA 2022 for Best Comedy Screenplay. Manzoor’s debut film with Focus Features and Working Title, Polite Society – Operation Marriage, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023.

Priya Kansara (Ria)

Priya Kansara studied acting at the Identity School of Acting in London. Since graduating she has played a recurring role in the second season of the highly successful Netflix series Bridgerton and in the series, also Netflix, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself. She was recently named among the International Stars of Tomorrow 2022. 

Ritu Arya (Lena)

Ritu Arya is proving herself worthy of joining the next generation of Hollywood’s elite leading ladies. Arya recently starred alongside Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot in Netflix’s most-watched film of all time, Red Notice, where she plays an Interpol agent on the trail of the world’s most wanted art thief. She also stars in Netflix’s number one series, The Umbrella Academy, which debuted with its third season in the summer of 2022. Arya plays Lila, a chameleon who can be brilliant or clinically insane depending on the situation.
